Property Description

Portfield is a remote farmhouse beautifully situated on the Croggan peninsular with panoramic views from Ben Nevis in the north to the Isle of Jura in the south, overlooking the Firth of Lorne.  There is a sandy beach a short walk from the door and an abundance of wildlife.  A 4 x 4 vehicle is needed to access this property.  Although remote, Portfield has been fully and lovingly restored, sleeping 6 with two double and one twin bedded rooms.  There is a very large drawing room with a multi-fuel stove .  This room has stone walls, and is beautifully furnished with large sofas, armchairs and antlers adorning the walls giving a truly Scottish atmosphere.  There is a spacious farmhouse kitchen with dining table.  Due to its remoteness Portfield has no electricity supply and the house has been adapted accordingly.  Cooking is by a Rayburn which also supplies the hot water and there is an additional gas hob.  There is a gas fridge/freezer and battery lamps for lighting.  Portfield is unique and possibly only for the adventurous seeking absolute peace and tranquillity.

The house is non smoking

No dogs

Portfield has a private water supply with all the necessary filtration system in place.
